New Living Room Wall Color

Hello!
I have repainted our living room walls from a stark white to a warm gray.
like LOVE the way our white furniture and accents "pops" against the new color now!

I am itching for Spring? Where is all this snow coming from?
I thought it would be fun to share bits of my restyling the Living Room with you.
I like to keep it Simple and Fresh!
Stay tuned, more to come...

Easter Decorating

This week we are decorating for our Easter celebration on Sunday.
As many others do.

A simple hand blown egg, covered with vintage paper, lace and trinkets.

We hung many eggs in a vintage metal birdcage.
Our son built a clay birds nest complete with feathers.
Tucking in one egg in the nest.

Chippy Shabby Cross hangs from an old glass pane window.
The old window is setting on the ledge of our main window.

More Easter decorating to be done.
We'll share soon.
No matter how long Winter is, Spring always comes.
:)

My Shabby Prairie Barn

Where does the time go?
My last post was in December? Busy with life I suppose.
I've been living old-school lately, avoiding tech.
Homeschooling, remodeling the farmhouse, busy rediscovering old things I love and
working on my shabby prairie "girl size" barn.
It's primary purpose will be used as a guest cottage, for family and friends when they visit.
Right now it is a empty shell of sorts.
We will be having our wedding at the farm.
My Prairie Barn will be used in the wedding.

This is how it looked when we purchased our farm.

Then we added a couple of windows and the walls.
Many changes since this photo... red paint added, replaced these windows.

I adore the flavor of old patina!
This antique ceiling tin will be used in the barn.
Also adding a mix of old woods. Love.
I am ready for Spring so I can get out and work on my Shabby Prairie Barn!
Would you like to see step by step photo's as we transform her?
Warning photos maybe full of farm dust and sweat. ;)
Have a great weekend my friends.

Lovely Gifts

"CHRISTMAS"
This one word brings joy to my heart.
No matter how I may dread the shopping rush, my Christmas list or the 150 cards to be hand written when Christmas Day comes there is still the same warm feeling I had as a child.
The same warmth that enfolds in my heart and our home.

Christmas is also doing a little something extra for someone.
I am blessed to find two such friends who thought of me.

The first is, Birgit, from Azorina.
A facebook friend like so my other dear friends I have met.

A Christmas card with a beautiful sunset only Az could have!
She also sent me the sweetest blue picture frame ever!
My son adores this and wants it for is room.
He loves sea life...I just may have to give in or maybe we'll share.
;)

Next is Rachel of Shabby French For Me.
We met through facebook. I also love to visit her beautiful blog.

I hold precious all vintage treasures. I adore each piece she sent.
It's like she knew I would use a few of these pretties in our Vintage Wedding this Summer!

Thank you SO SO much Birgit and Rachel for thinking of me!
I heart these two women!
Speaking of hearts, we had our FIRST snowfall here.
My little man is loving it!
Hope you are enjoying the magic of the first fallen snow where~ever you are too.
'til next time
xo
